For 17 years, Enid Lefton was the person behind the voice of KLCC's
Women's Music. Having fulfilled her number one childhood fantasy of
being a disc jockey, she went on to accomplish her number two fantasy -
to perform on Broadway. The closest she's come is performing with WYMPROV!
in her living room. (Her house is a block from W. Broadway in Eugene, which
means she has performed off-Broadway!)
Enid grew up writing song parodies and
had her play, "Youth Group on the Roof", a parody of "Fiddler on the Roof",
produced when she was in high school. She was one of the creators of the
highly successful women's cabaret, "ssSteamHeat" and "More ssSteamHeat"
produced in Eugene in the early 80's.
Since joining WYMPROV! in 1991, improv
and humor have become her passion. Enid's business, Life
Is An Improv, presents workshops to companies and organizations on
team-building, creativity, humor, and stress reduction. The workshops use
improv games and exercises to help "say yes" to whatever life hands out.
Enid is the recipient of the 1992 Harvey
Milk award for her contributions to the gay, lesbian and bisexual communities
of Oregon.
