It all started in 1991 with a workshop called "Healing With Humor". A group of women who attended the workshop decided to keep getting together to play some of the games and exercises they learned in the workshop. When an opportunity came up to perform in public at a women's coffee house, the women in the group scattered like the wind. When the dust settled, only four stalwart women remained. They dubbed themselves WYMPROV!, and set off to present their first, and probably last, performance. But fate would not have it that way. In the dressing room during intermission on that cold December night, the women of WYMPROV!, intoxicated by the laughter and applause they generated in Act I, looked at each other and exclaimed in unison, "Well, I guess we're a comedy troupe!" The rest, as they say, is herstory.

Since that fateful night, the women of WYPROV! have performed throughout the Northwest at conferences, festivals, parties, and concert halls. Along with their trademark improvisational comedy, WYMPROV! tries to throw in a song parody or two along the way. Always eager to take to the stage, their goal still remains the same: To make people laugh and eat french fries after the show.
